Aussies and Kiwis are one of the world’s most avid punters; but it is a given for which Sportsbet shows appreciation by offering promotional concessions or refunds for certain types of losing wagers. The latest of which is the “Out-by-1” money back offer available only to Australian and New Zealand punters.
Sportsbet commits to refund a losing first Correct Score bet placed on A-League and EFL matches held from January 17 to February 16, 2014. It does not matter if the one point difference falls on the score of the football team backed by the punter, or of the opposing team or even on the final goal scores of both, as long as a final goal count missed by one.
Let us say a Correct Score punt is a 2-1 win by Central Coast Mariners over Melbourne Victory and the match finished with a score of 3-1. A lost bet up to a maximum of AU$100 per match can therefore be refunded. The “Out-by-1” score still applies even if the match ended with a final score of 3-2, 3-0 or 4-1. Punters can always check out the table furnished by Sportsbet and use it as reference when placing a Correct Score wager on the A-League and EFL matches.
However, the “Out-by-1” money-back applies only to a bet placed online via the Sportsbet website, while a losing first bet that made use of freebet credits will not entitle the punter to a refund.
