Residents can ring in the New Year in Tweed Heads before going to the other side of the street to Coolangatta to celebrate it again. More unique characteristics of this city include Mount Warning, which is considered the largest volcano with a shield. This natural wonder is located near Lamington National Park, which is filled with fauna and flora of sub-tropical species. With the vast amount of beaches, surfing at Lennox Head is a big tourist draw. Byron Bay is a scenic drive down the coast. Houseboats dart the coastline where fishing for dinner is commonplace. Twin Towns is an entertainment center along with Tweed Mall and the food court at Harborside. Taking a drive on the Gold Coast Highway offers views that are breathtaking.
