Starcourt Arcade provides shopping with a distinctly retro feel. Enjoy the wide selection of vintage clothes, or visit the old fashioned art house movie theater upstairs and revel in its old fashioned charm. There’s an eclectic choice of establishments, but you can always count on being to sit down and relax in the café and read the sometimes surprisingly strange messages on the local notice board.

If gambling is your thing you had better be prepared for a long drive. The Star Casino is New South Wales only casino. Located in Sydney, several hours drive from Lismore. The Star Casino is a Las Vegas style resort with accommodations, live performances and gaming for every gambling level and preference. The Star Casino is open seven days a week and twenty-four hours a day except for limited hours on Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Anzac Day.

Make a point of visiting the Lismore Regional Gallery, a small but important venue showcasing the work of local artists. The gallery has also hosted traveling exhibitions demonstrating the talents of Aboriginal, Modern and more traditional artists from around Australia.

The Lismore Rain-forest Botanic Gardens is a work in progress, unfortunately located near the local refuse dump. Work is proceeding steadily and it will be a wonderful addition to the local area and provide a fantastic opportunity to study important examples of local flora.
